Ara Reo is a practice tool for te reo Māori, made in Aotearoa. By using it, you agree to these terms. They're plain language on purpose.

Be respectful

Te reo Māori is a taonga. Use Ara Reo to learn, practise, and grow your reo. Don't use it to mock, misuse, or misappropriate the language.

Your account

One account per person. Don't share sign-in links.
Keep your sign-in email secure. We will never ask for your password (there isn't one).
You can delete your account at any time from the account page.

Audio scoring

Pronunciation scoring is provided by Te Hiku Media's Papa Reo platform. We do not record or store your audio. Scores are guidance and just there to help you.

Service availability

Ara Reo is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis. We may add, change, or remove features as the kaupapa develops. If anything material changes that affects your data or rights, we'll tell you in-app and via email.

Liability

We don't accept liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of Ara Reo. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act and Privacy Act 2020 are unaffected.

Disputes

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. We'd much rather sort things out kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face) than escalate; drop us a line first.
